The Castle Inn
Famous for being the oldest pub in Newport dating back to 1550 and once had a secret passageway to Carisbrooke Castle for King Charles. An old staircase to the old brothel can still be seen, the pub was rebuilt in 1684 after a major fire. Outdoor patio areas, open fire place.
The partially hidden old staircase is behind glass on the left hand side as you enter the front of the premises.
