The Isle of Wight is our favourite place in which to take a holiday, especially if you have children. Even if you do not have the kids in tow there is still plenty to do and appreciate. Since our first visit in 1989 with my then future father-in-law and his wife, we have been to the island many times and are totally smitten. We therefore decided to create this website, so more people could discover the natural beauty and attractions that it has to offer, as shown from a personal perspective.
The Isle of Wight is a diamond-shaped island that is approximately 23 miles wide and 13 miles high. It is situated at the far south of Great Britain, sandwiched between France and the UK. However it is a lot nearer than you think—just three miles from Portsmouth's coast. Read more about how to get to the island.
