Shanklin Old Village 3

 

 

 

This is the view looking away from middle of The Village.  There are also several Hotels in and around The Village area.  Do not waste time looking for a place to park on nearby roads or lanes within the village there are no places, use the Chine Avenue Pay and Display car park, see next picture.
 


Looking down the hill into the village.  Turn left just prior to this view down Chine Avenue for the one and only car park {be there early at peak season} after the car park the road becomes one way, up only so you cannot go down it by car anyway.

The small road train may also be used from here and it drops you off at Shanklin Seafront which is considerably lower than The Old Village. 

Tip: If you are feeling fit and would enjoy a walk instead turn immediate left into Chine Avenue from leaving the car park and walk down the hill and footpath to the seafront enjoying the view on the way.


King Henry V111's Restaurant located on the edge of The Old Village as you are heading out or 50yds from Pencil Cottage on the same side. 

King Harry's Bar {around the back} is recommended as a unique place to have a pint in and is in my pub guide.  There is live music at the weekends as well.


 

The Crab Inn still as popular with families for dining inside and a handful of drinkers enjoying the sun and sights outside.  See the Pub Guide.
Rylstone Gardens are not very far from the above picture where there are a couple of outdoor Cafe's, crazy golf, a park with bandstand, and some great views. It is also a shortcut to Shanklin Beach South!
