Sandown Beach

Sandown beach is situated in
the South East of The Island and is popular for its water sports and many
facilities. It is also very popular with families and has safe bathing.
Sandown beach is about a mile long but does look even longer because it merges seamlessly into Lake and Yaverland beaches. It has a large pier that has many small attractions including amusements, crazy golf, childrens rides, 10 pin bowling to name a few. |

Looking towards The Pier from about a half way point along Sandowns stretch of beach. This was late morning before the crowds of families engulfed the beach on what was a very hot and humid day. |

The small road train picks people up from various locations along the seafront and is identical to the one in use at Shanklin. |

The Driftwood Beach bar is a recent addition to the Eastern end of the beach and is the only bar on the beach on The Island. Handy for a quick refreshment and they host outdoor beach games and live entertainment inside and out.
