Located high up between Shanklin Old
Village and Luccombe Chine just off the public footpath is this memory from the second
World War.
I think the A. R. P. on the metal sign stands for Air
Raid Patrol and below it is written Warden Post.
There were lots of these around the
Blackgang Chine, Gore Cliff area.
In the distance past the group of houses
near the edge is The Chale Show. This is where the helicopters were coming
from.
This is one of my favourite candid shots
of my daughter Erica.
I was crouching low some 60 feet
away watching her searching for interesting pebbles and shells along the
shoreline, and because I was at the telephoto end of the lenses range only items
near to her are in focus.
