Far West of Blackgang c1990
I cannot remember what this wall was for, but the cliff edge was fast approaching the other side of it. This area now no longer exists - it was to the far right of The Water Gardens. |

The extent of the problem can be seen in the distance. |

1990 Extracted from the previous picture
The red dot indicates houses that have been demolished up to that point. I have just found this out by counting the large peaks of the houses in this and the next picture which was taken with a 300mm lense some 12 years later. |

Taken 2002
These houses although suffer from relativley slow erosion in that part surely are counting their days. |

Closer view
Taken with a 300mm lense a garden wall can be seen at the very cliff edge. |

Merlins Bistro
On the same West side but closer to Blackgang than the houses pictured earlier is Merlins Bistro. Although not in emmediate danger but safe for how much longer? |

Blackgang Beach, South
A closer view of this inaccessible beach. Note the two people looking down on the left of the picture, they seem so small! |
