Cliff Edge looking West

Taken in 2003 this clearly shows the scale of the problem in this area, height from this edge of Blackgang to the sea is more than 300 ft. This view is at the very edge of Blackgang Chine looking West.

Model Village

Do you remember this? This was taken in 1989 and shows the cliff edge the other side of the model village. This was first constructed in 1953.

Where The Model Village once was

Taken a year later in 1990 a small 'path' of the Model Village can still be seen on the left in the picture. Now this whole area has long been washed away.

Steam Train, Cowboy Town

Taken in 1990 this large model too had to be moved a long way up the hill and into new land at the edge of Blackgang under Gore Cliff which is now called Frontierland.

This town was at the very bottom of Blackgangs winding trail amongst woods and was one hell of a treck back up the hill to the other models. I thought at the time that this area amongst woods would last a long time - how wrong I was. A large proportion of the models were saved though when the landslip of 1994 struck

Cluster of Houses

This cluster of houses to the far right of Blackgang has surprisingly lost little land in front of them in the last 10 years. Lucky for the house on the very end! Taken in Summer 2002.
