Lancaster over Derwent dam

Lancaster directly over the Derwent dam.

I had a good day here despite the weather turning dull, it could have been worse. After the fly past I visited the Dambuster Museum which is located in the West tower of the Derwent dam {directly behind the Lancaster in the above picture} and also went to have a look at some of the stalls/tents set up in the lower car park near the Visitors Centre. I left at 1.30pm, it was worth getting up very early for.

The organisation, facilities and sheer amount of Rangers helping out very early in the morning was excellent - full credit to everyone involved in this event.

However the amount of spectators was nowhere near the amount I thought would be here. Was this due to the event being held on a weekday, or was it due to the parking restrictions and permit issue?
