Taken around 9am on Friday 16th May 2008 from beyond the East Tower of the Derwent Dam.
Between 8.30am and 9.30am it became quite bright with the sun rising behind me and lighting up the bank opposite, it looked at this point it was going to be a fantastic day for the weather.
This was around 60ft higher than my selected viewpoint but I {and others} had to comply with the Rangers orders that we were not allowed on the open moor area due to wishes expressed by the landowner on this particular day {although it is clearly marked public access land}. We were allowed at the lane edge which had a great viewpoint anyway although quite high {on Pike Low}, I was around 100ft higher than the East Tower of the dam.
