Above, this is the first view that many visitors get of the Derwent dam after coming from the nearby car parks and Fairholmes Visitors centre. The tower on the left is the West tower where at certain times the Derwent Valley Museum is open. On the right is the East tower where steep steps provide access to the other side of the dam where there is a good viewpoint.
